Sharpi as an Entertainer

From a young age, my passion for singing and performing was sparked by the vibrant Motown scene in Detroit. I honed my skills in church choirs and high school musical groups, eventually becoming a worship leader for several years. After relocating to Arizona, my friends and colleagues encouraged me to pursue my singing more earnestly, which led me to discover jam sessions and local music venues. This adventure ignited my journey as a performer, and I now find myself on stages across the city.

Singing in choirs lead to recordings and solo parts with "Partners in Christ" saxophonists Clarke Patton and Daryl Beebee.

My most recent performance was opening the AZ Rhythm and Jazz Fest at The Kroc Performing Arts Center in Phoenix Az. Orchestrated by June 2026. Featured Artist including - Tom Braxton _ International Billboard charting saxophonist. Khristian Foreman, Grammy Nominated Trombonist, Gera, Maudie, Robert Hudson DJ and Vocalist and Eric Davis DMP.

Every performance brings me immense joy and fulfillment, enhancing my lifelong love for music and its capacity to unite us. Today, I savor every moment on stage, grateful for the journey that has led me here.

My Design Story

My journey into fashion designing began with the inspiring influences of my mother and grandmother, both of whom attended the same design school and learned under the same instructor as I did. Growing up, my mother designed beautiful clothing for my sisters and me, nurturing my skills and creativity. For over 55 years, I've not only designed fabulous creations but also worked in visual displays, showcasing my passion daily. My nickname, "Sharpi," has an amusing origin; it was given to me by dear friends of their daughters who used to call me Barb Sharp, a nod to my always being dressed to impress—something that remains true today. I cherish the joy of constant creation, and I owe a great deal to my parents for encouraging me to pursue my artistic gifts.

I use a variety of techniques to create my designs, including painting, airbrush techniques, melting plastics, repurposing many items, and various fabrics, trims, and mixed media.

During a conversation with a friend, who was depicting a scene of my voice echoing in the southern hills while making "hot honey buttered biscuits" in the kitchen, the idea of hot honey buttered biscuits emerged.
